Level: Primary (Year 02 – Ages 6 to 7) Duration: Full Academic Year (3 Terms) Course Title: Basic Numbers and Shapes Term 1 – Numbers, Counting & Place Value Learning Objectives: Understand number patterns, counting, and value of digits. Topics Covered: 1. Counting numbers (0 – 100 and beyond) 2. Skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s 3. Understanding **tens and ones 4. Comparing numbers (>, <, =) 5. Ordering numbers and number patterns 6. Understanding zero as a placeholder 7. Odd and even numbers Activities: Number line games Counting objects and coins Number puzzle worksheets Term 2 – Addition, Subtraction & Basic Fractions Learning Objectives: Build fluency in addition and subtraction with 2-digit numbers. Topics Covered: 1. Addition and Subtraction within 50 using number bonds 2. Word problems based on real-life situations 3. Introduction to simple fractions (½ and ¼) 4. Patterns and Sequences with numbers and colours 5. Estimation and Approximation Activities: Use of counters and blocks for problem solving Fraction coloring and cutting activities Real-life math scenarios (“I have 10 candies and I gave away 4…”) Term 3 – Shapes, Measurement & Time Learning Objectives: Recognise 2D and 3D shapes, measure objects, and read time. Topics Covered: 1. 2D Shapes: circle, square, rectangle, triangle, pentagon 2. 3D Shapes: cube, cuboid, sphere, cone, cylinder 3. Describing shape properties (edges, corners, faces) 4. Measurement: length (cm/m), mass (g/kg), capacity (ml/L) 5. Reading time: to the hour and half-hour 6.
